A teacher is one who keeps learning and adapting to upcoming changes and challenges. Milind Chandra is one such teacher who has so much to learn and offer to the society. He teaches class 1th to 5th in Durg district of Chhattisgarh. He has special interest in strengthening children's foundation through basic language and Mathematics. His preferred ways of teaching are through videos, images, games, textbooks, group activities, role play and by making students practise regularly.

What motivated you to become a teacher?
Teaching and learning while working as a teacher to bring about change in the lives of students was  easier and more satisfying because the first step on the path of progress is through education.

What is your best memory so far as a teacher?
There have been many occasions when children gave me new energy to always work hard to achieve success. Engaging with children and watching them fulfill their efforts has been filled with unforgettable moments for me.

How has Gurushala helped you in your journey as a teacher?
I was introduced to Gurushala through my district coordinator. I really enjoy the Online Training and Live Classes section of Gurushala. Gurushala has helped me in a lot of ways but most importantly, it has helped me in knowing my own weaknesses and the nuances of teaching methods. By working on it, I was able to apply my learnings to the field.

I have participated in a lot of events and activities organized by the Gurushala team such as a webinar on ‘Learning Outcomes’ and many other workshops as well.

What is your life motto as a teacher?
To strengthen the children as the best citizens in the community. To provide opportunities to play, read, and grow according to their interest along with moral values- these are my mottoes as a teacher.

What according to you is a 21st Century Teacher?
A 21st Century teacher teaches children using modern technologies and simultaneously using a medium that is enjoyable and sensitive to the children.

How do you wish to bring change in society?
Every person should be conscious of their own rights and duties and be independent in meeting one’s basic needs. Every person should be educated so that he is able to fulfill his duties in the interest of the country and society.
